Update: By doing a tight circle in my driveway, I was able to get the ball to roll to the right where I could touch it. I then covered my finger in tape, then used my finger to trap it and put it out. It was a big heavy metal marble. That kid was the devil.

Some dipshit kid who owned the car previous to me, goes and drops these glass balls/marbles in the car. I found one, so I knew what I was looking for.

Anytime I take a turn you hear this ball rolling on plastic or metal going back and forth. It’s so annoying.

Unfortunately, in the Model 3, anything that falls through the back seat now goes into 2 possibles areas that are filled with batteries. You have to start removing batteries or braces to even get down in there. I removed the rear seat and used an inspection camera. I put tape in all the places where it would roll hoping to catch it. Nothing.

I kept using my kids in the back seat to sit there then tell me where the sound was coming from. It sounded like UNDER my seat, not the rear seat. They also confirmed it seems to be under my seat.

I moved the seat all the way forward or back, there’s an area with plastic you can feel where a ball would go. Finally my 3rd time checking, I felt the damn ball. Success. I at least knew where the sound was coming from and what was causing it.

So I started putting tape under there. I made a pen with tape all at the end to poke around and hopefully get it but it doesn’t seem to be long enough. No luck. You can’t get under the seat without removing it.

So I’m at least on the right track. This fucking marble. The kid found the absolute worst thing to lose in a car and this car is all plastic/metal and has about 5 areas where a marble will go then ruin your life.

If you ever want to fuck a Tesla owner over, buy some marbles, jam them down the rear seat or under the driver seat.

My dad said in the old days they would put a golf ball down someone’s gas tank before the tanks with the hinge that sealed them. Then when the tank was nearly empty, the driver would be stuck listening to a golf ball. haha.
