EA are assholes as always. Battlefield 6 requires SECURE BOOT / Driver Update + The game itself blows
The Game
Geez. Worst Battlefield I’ve played. I haven’t played Battlefield V though. DEI strikes again. Battlefield 1 is better and I hated that one. The last good one was still Battlefield: Hardline back when they had employees. It’s clear everyone quit after that.
Update: got to Level 20 (max) and all achievements in the open beta. Game is so terrible. Is it better than COD Black Ops 6? I don’t know. haha.
Battlefield 6
- The only fun thing so far is kililng people with shotguns because it’s 1 shot and overpowered. OR laying on tanks and repairing as you get lots of points. haha.
- They re-added Assault, Recon, Engineer, Support because people had to go all the way back to Battlefield 4 to enjoy some non-nonsense.
- They got rid of countries because having a country would OFFEND someone for some reason. No USA, Russia, Germany, classic Battlefield things. So now you have nonsensical sides that don’t even matter, which you pick and can’t identify with in any way. It’s pointless and ruins the experience. Yeah the army in brown one vs. the brown + black army. Never has a side meant nothing before so much in this game. I didn’t play BF2042 or BF V.
- Animations are so choppy
- Destructable is overhyped. It’s certainly not adding to gameplay and you still shoot at things and they don’t destroy so you don’t even know what you can destroy. Then you just die more to things falling on you. Things you think should be destroyed, don’t.
- Maps are shit. Not one fun one. They’re just a mess of 100 ways to get crossfired. The best way to play is to actually camp and wait for someone to come around a corrner. You get way more kills that way.
- Vehicles are the worst vehicle control I’ve ever seen in a Battlefield game. Then they strangely let 6 people be in a tank but only 2 can do anything. Vehicles is what Battlefield does well only this time they’re horrible. Every vehicle. Even the jeeps are bad.
- Vehicles are all horrible
- Everytime you kill someone, it doesn’t feel like you connect or register or actually hit them. They just fall over or you get credit without feeling like it hit.
- Secondary firing in tank runs out of cooldown in like 3 seconds then you just sit there waiting.
- Tanks just have 3 people standing behind repairing which is kinda dumb. It’s a repair war. haha.
- You spend most of your time dying to vehicles (which are horribly controlled)
- Animations are HORRIBLE.
- Menus look like some crackhead designed them. They’re badly designed and difficult to find things. People 20 years ago designed better menu systems. Fuck even StarCraft I has a better menu system.
- Combat is really janky. Feels worse than COD Black Ops 6. You don’t feel satisifation killing anyone. You’re like OH, I killed someone. Why? Who knows. Thanks for the points.
- difficult to hide. People reveal you like crazy, even more so than previous games of everyone jamming the E key to spot.
- Can’t even find the vehicle upgrade or customization options int he menu system.
- It’s doing weird ass QR codes everywhere. I tried scanning them with my phone to see if anyting popped up and it didn’t even recognize them.
- Female soldiers mixed in so your soldier is yelling weird shit in combat haha.
- Hitting Q for spot is popping up this whole notification to team system for no reason.
Getting the Going
dumb thing won’t even launch unless you’re in secure boot which is a bios setting. This requires SOME people to update their bios to even get the option to change it. Then you have to reboot several times and all of the pop-ups telling you WHY “enable secure boot” can’t be done, aren’t even settings in your bios. It’s like 30-1 hour process.
Who the fuck does EA think they are to determine bios settings? No other game I’ve tried has required “secure boot” to launch. What bullshit. Who the fuck is technically adept to even know how to make those changes? Talk about age gating. Talk about skill gating. Is the common gamer going to know how to change those settings? I had to search “se” and if you type secure, it doesn’t even find the option, only “se.” Then it won’t turn on with all these other settings it wants you to change “CSM” and none of those options show up. You have to read through forum posts to even pick the magically right settings to enable secure boot
Boot: custom
To disable CSM (Compatibility Support Module) on an MSI motherboard, you’ll need to enter the BIOS settings, navigate to the CSM or UEFI/Legacy setting, and then disable CSM.This will enable UEFI mode, which is generally required for features like Secure Boot. The specific steps can vary slightly depending on your motherboard model and BIOS version, but generally involve accessing the BIOS setup (usually by pressing Delete or F2 during startup), finding the CSM or UEFI/Legacy setting, and then disabling it.
