I never got an EV because they were such a ripoff but I got mine for like 1/2 off.

My 10 mpg gas was $1600 a year.

Tesla Registration $722 ($430 more)

Insurance : $600 more

So thus far, it’s only 470$ savings.

Then the tires have to be replaced WAY more often on Tesla, apparently. $1600 for fucking tires.

Then, if these fuckers manage to add a mileage tax.

But now there’s talk about a cap on gas tax for California, which if the gas was ever cheaper, then the electric vehicle would make even less sense because of the insurance and registration.

Ideally, you’d register it in another state and do insurance in another state (against the law) like some people I know.

It only plays off if you do a LOT of miles. I only drive 2,000-3,000 a year. My aunt died in Northern California and now I don’t go there every year anymore iether. Just local town driving mostly.
