Jolt Cola, the first Energy Drink

I remember back in the late 1980s where we heard about JOLT COLA. I rode my bike down to the convenience store to buy one. I remember it was like motor oil. It kinda slid down your throat. Then now let’s look at all the energy drinks today. They coulda been the RED BULL.

The cola drink was created in 1985 by C. J. Rapp as a highly caffeinated beverage.[1] It was targeted towards students and young professionals, stressing its use as a stimulant in a similar manner as energy drinks. Its slogan reads “All the sugar, twice the caffeine!”

When did they stop making Jolt Cola?
Jolt, which first launched in 1985, ceased production between 2009 and 2010, after some questionable decisions … like rolling out cans that looked like alkaline batteries.

I drink energy drinks to stay awake. Perscriptions I take make me super drowsy. I switched to COSTCO brand 5-hour energy as they were the best deal + not all the bad things that regular energy drinks contain. They’re of course bad for you.

Sometimes when I don’t eat anything and drink an energy drink, I have a near panic attack or heart attack. That can’t be good.

Anything to stay awake.
