We all got called to meeting where they said we’re no longer allowed to say “YOU GUYS.” Completely random too. At another meeting in another department, a woman in QA said “what’s wrong with saying you guys?” She honestly didn’t know what the problem was and thought it was fine. Team members on MY team, heard that story and said “they wanted to beat her up in the parking lot after work” for asking that question.

So then years goes by and everyone kept saying YOU GUYS, including all women. I said, what about that meeting we had that said we can’t say YOU GUYS (sarcastically of course). And no one even remembered having the meeting but me.
