Car Stereo: Alpine

My old post got nuked. So after 2 years of waiting for some amp cable to show up, it finally showed up on ebay. That cable will allow me to connect my head unit to my two amps and control them through the head unit. But that connection is already sharing with a cable that connects up to my phone to run my phone/mp3s through the stereo.

But then to my horror, I discovered/remembered that I still also need THIS  extra AUX unit which is running about $200 on eBay. One seller is in Russia, I was thinking geez would he even be able to ship it at this point? Is he embargoed? haha.

The head unit only has one output for everything including a phone/Mp3, disc changers, amps, etc. This box lets you plug in a bunch of things. I keep thinking how about a CD Changer. But man it’s 2022 and those are from the mid 1990s. haha. What would still work though is 6 discs of Mp3s. The CD changers are about $130. Pretty dumb to buy them at this point but I just loved them.

Apparently there’s a club for one of the units 7909 and it goes for $4000+

I’m recreating a stereo that was available in 2005 or so. Pointlessly, but it’s been a dream of mine since like 1991 to have a good Alpine Stereo. I put the head unit in with no other mods in 2005 but it sounded like garbage. Then in 2020 I built an awesome stereo around it.

My head unit is apparently still worth something because it’s so rare. But it’s not reading discs really well. I can’t imagine a CD player not playing discs properly 17 years later. I need the thing cleaned somehow.

10″ Alpine Sub

6.5 mid-range sub I put under the passenger using the default premium sound box

4 channel and mono sub. Like 900 watts+

Put tweeters there using silicon

Two extra speakers in the back window because they wouldn’t fit into the back doors. So 4 back speakers.
