I think I’m pretty good at a bunch of random things but some skills that I wish I would have woulda pumped my $ up by like $40k a year:
- Creative Writing – I just stare at a page and I have zero creativity. I ramble around. It’s pretty hard coming up with 2000 words. I’m very cliche.
- Graphical Skills – You’d think 25+ years I could do a ton in photoshop but I can just do the basics and it’s similar to the creative writing issue where I have zero creativity in creating anything.
- Marketing – The last company I was at didn’t have a lot of marketing integration so I didn’t learn anything. I had checked the local college for marketing classes and they didn’t offer much either. I’d have a ton more job opportunities available if I had some marketing training. I’ve never been a fan of marketing though and often seen them as the enemy, people just trying to con you into buying things that don’t work. haha. However, when you go anywhere else, the jobs I did were often in Marketing.
We all have strengths and weaknesses and while I believe some things can be learned some things can’t be learned. Who knows. I’m open to trying.
