There was this girl on my team and I bonded with her because we both were able to evaluate things that sucked and point it out better than anyone else. When they decided to expose everyone’s REAL NAMES, only she and I were the ones to say hey that’s the dumbest idea ever. But everyone ignored us because we were both “negative.” I think I was the ONLY one who got along with her. Anyway, besides that, she wasn’t especially good at her job but she was one of the first or few female tech people on the team. She was really conniving though. She’d backstab people for no reason. When she didn’t get her way she’d go over people’s heads to their bosses. She’d stir up all this shit for no reason (probably why we bonded). Eventually, it was really clear she HAD TO GO. She was the only pure toxic person on a team of 60+. At least I had earned the right to be toxic by being the first person. =D. But this was a place that never got rid of ANYONE for the first 20 years, no matter how bad they were at their jobs and so on. You also used to see that reflected a lot on glassdoor but at least the games were better during that time.
So they slowly worked to remove her. (and I was NO PART OF THIS KEEP IN MIND. I said nothing). She probably figured that out and then started to work HR into it. She told them she had ANXIETY issues and demanded her own personal office and got it. Then she immediately demanded everyone get their shit out of HER office. haha. There was some decoration stuff stored in there. And she was a total scrub in rank. There were tons of higher-level people that deserved their own office that couldn’t get one but she had exploited HR into getting one. Every other office had like 4 people minimum in it. So then she lasted another year(s) because of the HR defense. No one could get rid of her. One day they called an all-team meeting and they announced a producer was removed that we all loved. She made a comment that it’s not cool to have a meeting like this on one person and that she’d hate to know someday we’re all having a meeting about her. I think they just had the meeting because it would be such a shock to us since we loved the guy they removed. Anyway, I was looking at my friend (who hated her) and we were both trying not to bust up laughing. So eventually they FINALLY fired her after having met all the requirements for California or HR or whatever else and had a legal defense in place to finally get rid of her. And then we had that meeting she hoped we wouldn’t have on her removal (lolololol). And every year we’d celebrate the day she got fired. Because she was toxic as F.
