The Rookie / ABC is terrible

Wow, this is the worst cop show I’ve ever seen. The writing is really really bad. I think AI could do a better job. Regular real life dash/cop cams have a better story than this show. Nearly every “event” is just complete nonsense.

I only watched it because I like Nathon Fillion from Firefly.

• Like at a baby class, a “dad” comes to stab people and saying it’s his kid when the baby isn’t even born yet.
• The cliche oh off-duty cop is guarding a VIP holding a briefcase but someone comes to try to steal the briefcase
• A fake missile alert incoming throws the city into chaos where a judge is holding cops by gunpoint to get into the bunker when LA doesn’t even have bunkers since the 1960s.
• The criminals are so cheesy and bad and just go “ok you got me”.” The casting on them is so bad. They’re clearly just actors and whoever is hiring these people should be fired. They don’t even hire an actor or dress an actor like an actual criminal. They put a homeless lady then the lady just looks like a pretty girl they made look ugly on purpose.

I’m like what is this crap. Who watches this? Age 60+ people? Then my daughter says she saw her grandma watching it. haha.

All of the cops are black, the chief, the watch commander, every team of 2 cops has a black person. Then I look up the stats and: “The LAPD is becoming more diverse, with sworn workforces that are almost 70% people of color, reflecting the city’s demographics. In 2020, sworn personnel included a majority of White officers, along with a significant presence of Hispanic/Latino (46.9%), Black (8.3%), and Asian (11.7%) officers. ” 

So 8% black but 90% of the show is black. They pull the cliche story of someone coming back from under cover after 5 years, and it’s of course a black woman. haha.

Then one episode the start of it was a TOYOTA TUNDRA commercial but they make it a part of the episode.

This show has some decent actors, it’s just the writing is so bad. The criminal acting is so bad. I’m like ok what other cop shows were there? Dagnet. Adam 12. Even those ancient cop shows had better stories than this crap.
