I haven’t had a new computer since 2020 and my daughter’s is a BlizzCon 2018 floor computer. 8 years. I got it at work and had to beat 2,000 employees fighting for it on a signup. I reloaded for 8 hours until I won it. I think it was only $300 or something.
I didn’t really want to get a new computer because I have nothing to play, but my daughter was getting one, so I got one too.
The new computer is being overshadowed by how crappy Windows 11 is doing. Otherwise… the games I did play look really amazing.
$1,175 (after $75 tax) at Costco. It was $1,075 in August, but we missed it. I had to go to two different ones, and they only had a few at the second one. At the first Costco they sold it then couldn’t find them to hand them over. It said there’s only like 375 total across all warehouses.
The case is pretty junky, the worst I think I’ve seen before. It’s mainly plastic. One side is tempered glass. Top is plastic, half the side is plastic. It does this lame light show but they at least pre-install the app to turn it off. My daughter actually liked the light show.
It does have a cool side LCD display about temp status if you can put the case somewhere you can see.
The fans are also in a WEIRD spot. 3 are down the side (see photo). There are no fans in the back. The power supply isn’t sticking out the back where it’s doing airflow either. Their design makes no sense. There’s no fans up top. The fans seem SUPER cheap. The heat sink fan also looks pretty bad.
My son said I could get another case and swap everything or add some more fans or a better heat sink. I guess if it’s not blowing up.
I think you’re mainly getting this for the Video Card and Ram.
I found I can add 4 more hard drives with my own supplied SATA cables and one power adapter for some ancient 2000s 1990s hard drive power connector. But there’s nowhere to put the hard drives. I’m just stacking them loosely in the case on top of each other. haha.
They give you 90 days to return it. I don’t know how you’d wipe your info off if you did that.
I started up Battlefield 6, and it looks amazing, but the game is so fucking 1/10 horrible. They added their island and boats in season 4, and then I tried it out. The gameplay is SO FUCKING BAD. Battlefield 4 in 2013 had a better water expansion when it’s the same content (only looking worse graphically). How fucking hard is it to make a new Battlefield with the same gameplay as BF3/BF4 with new graphics? Idiots. I think there’s no one left working there since Battlefield: Hardline (2015), and it really shows. We all made fun of Battlefield 5 with a red-headed woman with a robot arm on the cover. And here we are with BF6 is just as bad. Total garbage game. But still, 50,000 people are playing it. People are desperate for a good game. I quit playing after reaching L167, and the game is so fucking unfun; I hate myself for even playing it one day. I feel like a fat person eating a whole cake only the cake is rancid but I still ate it. Took me 2 days to download the dumb game too, I think because Win 11 is throttling the download.
