Netflix

It’s very well done and the actress is amazing but it’s full of so much woke issues. The focus is all about “racism/differences.” If we hadn’t seen that for 40 years now in TV/Movies. It’s a very tired topic. It’s also somewhat of a ripoff of Harry Potter in places. The story needs work.

I love the actor that plays Gomez but this is the worst interpretation of Gomez yet.

The Adam’s family is about HUMOR with the crazy stuff they do. That was the appeal. This is taking a dark turn on it, with very little humor, much like how Netflix ruined Sabrina the Teen Age Witch with “Sabrina.” They did hilarious things with no consequences. This one tries to add right/wrong to it.

Wish I woulda figured this one out 10 years ago. Just put a . in front of LABELS/Folders you want to rise to the top rather than scrolling all the time to find them.

Visa $200 Gift Cards

Visa $200 Gift Cards

Such a pain to use. You can see the balance. Lots of sites disallow them due to abuse. The money is legit on them and they can be used to scan (no chip) or make purchases

The problem is if you want to buy anything over $200, you’re screwed. You can sometimes get people to add up to TWO of them for $400 but the rest you’re screwed on. Then because it has a finite $200 down to, trying to manage that number and knowing how much you have left.

We tried to get something for $40 but only $39 was on it. We tried to buy something for $70 but the store didn’t even have the SLIDER thing anymore, only chip reader which the card doesn’t have.

Tried to buy something for $780 and they would only charge up to $400, and only if I waited like 5 days until they were in the office. haha.

  • Preload your bills (phone etc) by $200
  • Preload your Cable
  • Preload Amazon Balance
  • Run at fast food/stores (under $200)

Seems like you might be able to load it into Paypal then use Paypal for higher purchases.

My Cyberpunk 2077 Review

My Cyberpunk 2077 Review

Update 9/27 – Patch has new changes and content. Everyone is back

This is definitely (after they patched it a bunch) one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. I cannot stop playing. It appeals to my OCD style of gameplay where I do every mission or side mission in the game. Even the collecting isn’t that bad because it gives you directions on where to go once you right-click on the item on the map.

TIP: Don’t use the emergency brake, use the S key to brake. They seem to want you to combo braking and letting off the accelerator to control the out-of-control cars.

Game Pros

  • World & Atmosphere, decorations
  • Graphics
  • Missions and plenty of side missions
  • Combat is fun!
  • Lots of things to upgrade from what you’re wearing to individual gear. There’s a whole implant system with rarities to upgrade.
  • Fun attribute system and perk system that do lots of fun things that improve your play and the game. You can’t wait to upgrade or earn something to see what it does. When you get bored you can get into a new tree and try things out and change your gameplay
  • Con: It was confusing figuring out to hold F on an attribute to raise it. I played for many hours before spending any due to that confusion.
  • They fixed most of the bugs, only experienced a few minor ones
  • Love how you can just ignore all the stealth and go in guns blazing while the NPCS complain at the end of your mission most of the time and give you less money in rewards.
  • Lots of story choices that add to replayability (or watch on youtube)
  • Voice acting by the character I created AND Keanu is incredible
  • Game will have an expansion / DLC a year or two later.
  • NPCS look really good, but sometimes they bug out and there are (3) of the same people together haha

Game Cons

  • Music is SOSO. It’s original but nothing spectacular. After GTA/Rock Band/Guitar hero/Just Dance stole all the songs, no games can have decent music anymore.
  • Not up to GTA level of car play and cops/pedestrians
  • Only about 60 hours of gameplay vs. some other games that are 100-450 hours.
  • No reason to really buy any of the housing except for how cool they look
  • No reason to buy 80% of the cars

Adult Warning
There are a good 5 times where your character is naked and another scene where you’re watching a long sex scene with Keanu and a bottomless chick. Haha. That’s why I make my characters hot chicks, just in case. Haha.

World

This was the most amazing game world I’ve ever seen. Imagine going back to the 1980s and telling people about this world you’d get to play in the year 2020. I should replay Saint’s Row 2-3 to compare. They have city sections and a lot of vertical content accessed via roads, ramps, or elevators. It’s incredible. You can be in the same building but be in all sorts of different areas with missions yet still be in the same building.

The graphics are incredible as well as all holograms, advertisements, map decorations, etc.

They have a whole team just making advertisements in the game. Some are gross but some are hilarious. The NPCs also just talk about random things. They really captured the cyberpunk world of the future. They also did a good job with the level of trash that would exist in a city like this. Giant dumps outside the city. Hah. It’s really hard navigating over the junk though.

Story Missions
Most original and fun missions I’ve seen besides some in Saint’s Row or classic GTAs. The single-player is full of choices letting you replay making different characters and choices.

Con: not incredibly clear when you’re making a big story choice in the dialog.

Bug: people call you at the same time it’s trying to give you a mission talk

What really sells it is the voice actress for my selected character (more available) + the performances by Keanu. I was doing a mission that went 1+ hour before being completed. I’ve never experienced that before. It’s almost never that I’m able to suspend belief in a game mission where I don’t recognize that I’m in a game and actually care what is going on but they managed to achieve it.

They manage to convince you to care about story characters that die which I’ve also never experienced except in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Pro: characters whine and complain when you make story choices they don’t like. Haha

Side Missions
Most insane amount of side missions I’ve ever seen. I’ve spent 20 hours just on 2 little sections of the city doing all of them. Overall, I did every side thing.

  • Special side story missions
  • Pretend to be a cop and clean up the bad guys missions (NPD)
  • Racing (standard in GTA)
  • Housing (standard in GTA)
  • Car Purchases (pointless)
  • Collection Items
  • Crazy Cyborg missions

Keanu Reeves
Absolute best implementation of integrating a celebrity into a game I’ve ever seen other than just playing as the celebrity. I’ll try to not spoil it. He did a great acting performance too.

Phone / Texting
Way better implementation than the GTA. Just hold down T to call then hit tab to switch to text messaging.

Con: The people INSTANTLY respond to text messages, in a way where they couldn’t possibly type a response that fast. While that’s great for convenience it ruins the experience a little because of its unbelievability.

Con: as the messages fill up, it becomes a chore to find the right message because there are so many on the menu tree.

Cars & Driving
It’s certainly better than any non-GTA game, but very horrible when compared to GTA (San Andreas & GTA V). I was thinking maybe they didn’t spend a lot of time on it because they wanted the focus to be on the world, on foot combat, or missions.

  • NO reason to buy cars when you can just steal them. I can steal these super-fast cars and use them forever, why would I spend money to buy a crappier car?
  • Cars just fishtail back and forth, difficult to control
  • Car spins out way too easily as you try to stop or turn a corner. You’re always spinning out. I’ve never spun out so many times in any GTA or even all of them combined together. Even GTA IV had horrible driving.
  • Emergency brake doesn’t substitute for the full brake as in GTA games
  • The physics of collision seems super off.
  • Not enough cars are being destroyed, they’re too sturdy. In fact, they don’t seem destroyed unless you sink them.
  • When you ram other cars, not very satisfying
  • Not a lot of hilariously ramming people off motorcycles like GTA Vice City and Up
  • Your car gets stuck on little invisible things and you can’t get it off, especially out in the desert. Trash bags you get stuck on. Minor dips in the outdoor terrain. it’s really bad.
  • Standard GTA problem of you walking too far away and your stolen car disappears/despawns
  • When you steal a car, the people don’t seem to care or do anything about it.
  • No cop cars patrolling around
  • When you accidentally hit a pedestrian, you get a wanted star
  • Tires don’t blow out
  • Brake lights don’t light up
  • No flying out of the car or motorcycle when you crash
  • Only found 2-3 cars that were “GOOD” and the rest aren’t worth buying

I was talking with my daughter and she suggested they should have done a collaboration with GTA where they handle just the car driving stuff

Cop Cars are super lame!
It’s not fun to steal them at all. The siren is ANNOYING sounding. Not satisfying at all. Additionally, the NPC cars do NOTHING if you come up behind them with the siren. What’s cool about stealing cop cars in GTA is the people get out of the way and crash. Otherwise, they look really cool with the LEDs around that change color once the siren is on.

Cop Star System
Very confusing. You get 1-star cops and go and hide in a corner as expected for GTA or Red Dead but it doesn’t wear off at all. They seem to want you to leave the area but that’s not clear on the map or in-game. Not as good as Rockstar’s star system.

Interface
Not intuitive in a few places. If they ask you to look for a shard, it’s very difficult to find and especially find out where to crack them or which “messages” contain shards that you need to hack. One menu you can only seem to get to by first hitting a menu option like I, then hitting escape.

Had no idea how to do the body implants but figured it out.

Combat
Very good, 10/10.

Con: game becomes WAY too easy. I was just working people from level 30-50. I never needed the FOOD/DRINK buff system and only used it about 3 times. The challenge became disappointing. I worked the main boss with just a sword and zero points in Blades. It scaled pretty well but then fell apart at the end.

Con: Animations for blunt instruments look horrible.

Skills

  • The skill trees are all enjoyable but I found the intelligence biohacking/quick hacking to be pretty useless. I reskilled and tried them for 5 hours or so. It’s a little funny just to blind or set them on fire and then finish them off. I’d say skip the blunt skill tree too.
  • It’s super cool that if you just TRY other skills, you can earn skill points that you can then spend in other trees.
  • Awesome that you can pay to reset your skills, most games just leave you screwed and want you to replay it all again.

Blades
I made a legendary katana and then I rush and slaughter everyone. The challenge level seems to be very low doing that option but I was L30+. It’s hilarious but very low-skill. I just jam lots of healing potions.

Items

  • Great stolen item system of junk white, green, blue, epic, and legendary items
  • Crafting system that lets you deconstruct items for mats and then build other things. However, the Crafting Items become super overpowered when combined with skill tree choices to buff crated items.

Huge Con: you spend all the time destroying items for mats, but you can’t protect the items (legendary crafted especially, epic) so that you don’t destroy them by mistake as you do this for upwards of hours. I destroyed at least 10 items I wanted to keep by mistake. You should be able to flag them as “don’t destroy” etc.

Language
Great use of some more futuristic language but not enough that it’s hard to understand. 10/10 on the language selection/usage. Preem. Prolly. NOVA! Gonks.

Extra Text
A ton of extra text/DVDs you pick up with

Character
=They put the dumbest hats on you. I wish you could do the “ethereal” item that doesn’t display on character, etc. “does not display on the character”. “there’s no way to hide an item you’re wearing.” You spend all this time making your character look custom and cool and then the item system destroys it as you try to min/max the best equipment. They need “don’t display” options. Supposedly it’s in the works long term.

Bonus Content
Go into: \steam\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\BonusContent\ and there’s extra stuff including all the songs.

Bugs

  • Went to talk to a character in person AND on the phone and both were talking to me at the same time but it was the same person. Hilarious.
  • Metal bots have items in there you can’t get. Then later they become a bag you can now loot.
  • one time saw a car hovering
  • bodies with loot get stuck under bushes and you can’t loot them

Overall top 5 or top 10 games of all time for me. So enjoyable.

Another Car Stereo

Another Car Stereo

I decided because I was bored to try another Alpine Stereo. The 9835.  I’ve had the same damn stereo for 17 years so I decided to try at least a different model. Despite being a lower feature than my 9855, it sounds way better. They said it’s WAY better overall. What I lost though is my direct wire connection to control the (2) amps from the head unit though.

So why go after these ancient stereos? They sound way better than the garbage they put out today.

AAA Studios and Game Name+1 – 2022, 2023!

AAA Studios and Game Name+1 – 2022, 2023!

Yet another thing I wasn’t allowed to talk about: Once AAA studios saw they can just update their existing games with a patch or DLC then call it 2, 3, or Game Name 2022, Game Name 2023, that totally killed innovation in the industry.  From that time on, you saw a lot fewer new completely original games. $60 DLC!

The worst is when they just stop updating the game and hold back the patches and package it together into an update and charge $60.

You can’t expect them to work for free, but just giving the same game for $60 more is nonsense.

We should be appreciative that inflation hasn’t pushed the $100 games though.

Early in the PC games, games were unique and awesome such as on Comedoore 64 or early PC or even Apple. The early home video game systems: NES, Atari 2600, Sega Bastard System, also so tons of unique and fun games. It was so great to put a cartridge in and have no idea what to expect and get a unique and fun experience. RTS spawned from a Sega Game that I never played. FPS spawned from Doom and a Half Life Mod. MOBA spawned from a map for Warcraft III.  Now we have massive franchises built off that.

However, if you find yourself finding nothing to play because it’s the same old shit every time, it’s that once these CEOs saw that they can milk that shit for 20 years, they barely allowed anyone to make anything new. The worst examples of those are EA and Activision, however many others do it. The rare times something succeeds is when they have a small team of people do a test game then it blows up. Otherwise, it’s just the same recycled shit year after year. I suppose that we should thank them that every 5th version, there’s a good version in the sea of crap.

EA was the first example where NHL 94 was the good one and they made crap ones ever since. or Madden 95/96/97 etc. Paying for a spreadsheet update and the same functionality. I really hated those f-ers after that as a customer. Just take the GOOD game and make it better, quit giving me shittier versions. They took like $1000 from me in the 1990s in old world dollars. The biggest pile of shit they gave me was Budokan. Most unplayable game since ET on Atari 2600.

As I mentioned elsewhere, it’s really sad when the older games are better than the current games. So then these f-ers start trying to remake the originals again. And sometimes they fuck it up so bad that the remake is worse than the original game (hilarious). Just like with movies. In one famous case, the version they sold people was worse than what they had already. Sometimes the remakes are good and improve, however. (maybe rarely). Love that Ghostbusters with all women? In the mentioned case which, you might able to guess, they had to refund or still haven’t fixed it to be any better than the original version.

It’s super infuriating when they milk it until it kills the whole thing such as Guitar Hero, Rockband, DJ Hero, Battlefield, etc. They turn people so off to it that the franchise has to shut down when they were your favorite games. That sticks you playing the old versions for as long as they operate. I love DJ Hero but the store to download music doesn’t work anymore. Some of the newer versions Rockband didn’t let you use your old songs, etc. The last good Battlefield was Battlefield 4. I’d rather play Battlefield 3, 4, or the cops/robbers one than the current ones.

If you look at the major games of today such as say Minecraft. They were created out of nowhere. (maybe even Fortnite?) . There’s a few other famous ones like Hearthstone. So some companies are TRYING to at least put small teams on creating products that can blow up, but in general, across the industry, it’s the same crap over and over. I don’t know who’s playing the new versions but it’s sure not me. I’d rather play Fallout: New Vegas than Fallout 4 (beat it) or the Fallout multiplayer version. I’d rather play WarCraft 2 than any of the things after. Grand Theft Auto 1,2, San Andreas, and Vice City (+ mobile versions) are better than GTA 4, 5 or online.

It’s not the developer’s fault, it’s whoever is running these top studios. They make them keep making the same garbage over and over because the customers are tricked into buying it. The devs quit cuz they’re sick of 10 years of a franchise. They go create their own studios where they try to make a new game (and fail) hah. I’ve met a few people who are ok with working on the same game for 15-20 years, but I don’t see why. I guess they’re like me, resistant to anything new or change.

The game makers need to keep making money but they really struggle to recapture their success. Often the success was a FLUKE or a result of bugs or the times. When they try to recreate it, they fail. The new WOKE gaming of the last 6 years also kills things as they try to jam their politics into the games (Battlefield 5 and the female viking one armed solder in World War 2/ WTF). The percentage of people who are into that crap vs. the majority that isn’t reflected in their sales.

Yet another reason you get the same crap is one succeeds (DOTA 2/League of Legends) and people try to copy them for the $$$. Fornite is another example. Everyone elsewhere wanted that $$. In some cases that results in better versions of the same game like say Warzone (original) or Apex Legends, while other times not (Battlefield).

So while I don’t play indy games very often, that’s what I tend to try such as Bum Simulator.

I want things that are funny, original, and offensive (like GTA). When they try to not offend anyone they make bland games that are not any fun (like GTA IV).

Games are supposed to be an escape from real life and when they inject woke real-life nonsense, that doesn’t help you escape it, that just gives you the same bullshit you have to deal with in real life.

Other longtime original game examples:

Postal, Duke Nukem, someone made a Columbine Shooting adventure game, someone made a Michael Jackson game where you’re the kids running from Michael. haha.

The 1990s were about censorship and the artists fighting against it. Then now in 2010+, it’s the same shit for video games. The companies don’t want to offend their woke customers or people in real life when that’s only 10% of their audience (who is the noisiest online).

It kills creativity and humor. In one case I saw, they went back to lines from 20 years ago that were hilarious and funny and helped make the company succeed and removed them because 2010+ found it offensive. a barbie voice going “I’m so wasted” etc.

Anyway, this is a post about both recycled shit and woke gaming ruining the game industry and that’s where I’ll end it. The best way to fight it is flame them in reviews and online and quit buying their games until they change. Go woke go broke. Some of them are so rich they can take that sales hit (Battlefield) while others cannot. It’s a challenge because you don’t want to punish the innocent employees but what matters is the product ultimately and not who is cooking your food. (Never ask whose cooking your food).

Gaming News Sites are Absolute Trash

Gaming News Sites are Absolute Trash

I couldn’t ever say anything negative about them because “we” were beholden to them. The game companies ANSWER to the gaming news sites as they rely on them for reviews.

No one can say anything bad about them and expect to still work in the game industry.

Having spent 25+ years dealing with both on both sides, I know.

But the whole system is corrupt. The game companies wine and dine and kiss ass to the review people to get good reviews. They invite them to special parties (at conventions). They host parties for them. They go to parties hosted by the gaming news sites. They invite them over to the campuses and hand them out loot hoping to buy their good news. The review people are crooked and do not do legit reviews. If they did legit reviews, they’d no longer get the gaming companies early releases, or special LOOT, or invited to their campuses. Let’s send out these special custom gaming boxes (of loot) to influencers, fan sites, etc. (great for ebay BTW).

The other day I was reading a review that said “we were not provided an early release.” (because they’re a lame gossip site). That was their veiled attempt to fuck the gaming company over that refused to recognize them as a good/legit gaming news site. It’s a completely fucked system where the end customer gets FAKE REVIEWS and Fake News. Sometimes the game company and news sites war against each other. The worst thing for the news site is to be “banned.” or kicked off their PR lists. Then they have to do everything on their own without zero company support or exclusive articles. Gaming companies try to buy off hostile news sites.

I think gamergate (which I didn’t follow nor care about) started because of outrage over fake reviews vs. the game companies.

Game companies buy free advertising and PR by giving exclusive content reveals/info to a gaming news site (or previously magazine). But then gaming news sites like to agree to exclusive articles and deadlines, then leak them before the agreed deadline. I saw feature leaks, trailer leaks, interview leaks, etc.

The gaming sites were awesome for year 1980s-early 2000s when the advertising system completely died. Once no one was being paid all of the good sites shut down and the good writers or employees quit or were laid off. Some went on to join game companies because that was their only option to stay in games. There were tons of ex gaming news site/magazine people at my company including my dbag ex boss.

, cut to today (or even last 5-10 years), where you’re left with the absolute trash piece of shit sites ever for your gaming news (besides bluesnews /26 year old site). They literally farm this shit out. I saw tons of job listings. A few years back, say 2019/2020,  all of the editors who had quit/layed off from these gaming sites as they crashed YET AGAIN were applying at the game companies (hilarious). They were all woke as fuck too.

You’re like who is even writing that shit anymore? It’s fans, children, idiots in other countries, upwork, and paid players. They’re remote aholes in some hick state in some ghetto area doing remote work. These are not your gamer friends giving you the legit news and opinions with the game skills to back it up. You only see that from “controversial” figures on twitch or tik tok.

That content now only exists on twitch/streaming, fan sites (if any still exist) or youtube/tik tok. That’s where the real content is now.

On top of that, due to cuts, they fired/laid off all the good gaming writers and replaced them with SJW nutjobs who are paid to write this absolute trash. Just click on most authors/portraits of the game article writers and see for yourself. Basically CLICKBAIT headlines and dumbshit opinion articles. The clickbait headlines are focused on gossip, drama, lack of facts, SJW bullshit, fighting at companies, etc. They’re not at all focused on games. About the only good times are when they point out some funny bug.

Some of the articles are hilarious, however, like the famous company where the leader was punching people in the nuts (and still had a job).

I scan ALL the gaming news sites daily.

Gamers should be able to go to the news like the 1994-early 2000s for great gamer news, but that has been sold out, profited out, etc. It’s almost not even worth reading anymore except for random humor parts, or releases. dates.

And moving on to fan sites, the game companies also completely answer to them. We had this game where this dbag fan site had the complete monopoly for years and we had to deal with them because we had no choice despite them being complete backstabbing assholes. (I started as a fan site asshole). The only thing you can do is “kick them out of the fan site program.” or do passive-aggressive things to fuck them over (which also was done). haha. I made doc of all the dumb things they done and passed them on and kept updating the doc (leaking things, agreeing to deals then breaking them, backstabbing the company while asking for favors). Fan sites used to (and may still exist) worship the game companies as fans (aka FAN site) but now they just are a hostile news site for the companies/games as they try to make online cash.

Fan sites also swapped like the gaming news sites where they also just focused on drama and clickbait and didn’t serve the gamers anymore.

The whole system is fucked mainly because they have no method of earning money without good advertising money.

The other reason is that it went from 1980-1990s gamers, to the general “trash” of today where there’s less education, more politics, younger people., etc. This is typical “boomer” talk but it’s literally reality. When “smart” nerds were running things, things were so much better than the casual lamers or Millennials/Gen Z of today. But now there’s so much more MONEY being made and that’s all that matters to them at nearly EVERY company now. The gaming news sites want money and the game companies want money. And when people get greedy the gamers get screwed.

The gaming news sucks, the fan sites (some of them) suck, and the game companies suck. And most of the games suck too. haha

OH NO, CAN’T OFFEND THE GAME NEWS SITES

  • I’m mad the gov kept taking the money from Mike to Kayle. $2M. Then AGAIN the big safety deposit boxes. Then they’re just like f it, she gets nothing. He worked his entire 6-12 years to build up $$ for them.
  • Sad about Nacho. I liked that guy.

Wiring Electrical Sockets

Wiring Electrical Sockets

I put in a new $600 portable air conditioner in a bedroom that was formerly an office. The room has NO ventilation but does have a window. Last quote 10 years ago was $6000 to upgrade. The probem was it blew out the socket and shut down the string of 2 more sockets. I got an AFCI socket which I’d never heard of. As it turns out, these people of #*#*# are going to Home Depot, filling up a whole flatbed of shit, then walking right out with it. So the place was gutted like some apocalypse thing. All I want is a damn socket and these fuckers stole them all. Also I was told just buy packs of them online for cheaper. Apparently, the nearby Walmart also went out of business for that same reason. Fuckers were getting off the freeway, looting, then returning to the freeway. Maybe do something about crime dipshits? Anyway, they had like only 5 outlets and they were in these weird containers with alarms on them. Never seen such a thing. Elsewhere the items had these bikelock-looking plastic things with alarms where you can’t even get the damn things off the hanger without help.

Fucking thieves man. That’s why there are 10 commandments against stealing. Once people let that go, it’s PRE-FLOOD days again. Start farming out the punishment to Islam. Once some hands are getting chopped off, that will clear that shit right up.

Anyway, after installing the ACFI, it was still not working. After getting help from a woman with a lot of experience in home improvement with nice cleavage, the simple problem was the 3rd socket in the line just needed to have the reset button pushed. So that’s an embarrassing solution, however, the socket had this (6) socket thing covering it hiding the button. I had pushed it on the 2nd socket in the 3 socket chain. Additionally, the breakers hadn’t flipped at all at the control panel and I have a 1970s electrical panel.  Once that was figured out, you DO have to push the reset on a new ACFI if it’s wired correctly. My tools are off the hook now and I have a Klein Tools electric socket tester that confirmed they’re all wired correctly. I had previously rewired (4) GCFI sockets (with no experience and youtube videos) in the last several years.

My home improvement experience was zero before I was gifted a drill. Then I’ve spent 3 years building up my epic tool collection. No name brand stuff really (gearworks/greenworks?). etc. So I’d suggest giving it a shot with starting out with an electric drill and youtube.

I’ve replaced a water heater, dishwasher, sockets, built a fish tank with only piping, fixed a washer, created a solar power system DYI.
