It’s super hyped. It’s crazy hard, and you need to watch videos of basic tips before playing because there are some hidden things that fuck over your complete gameplay if you don’t know.

It’s pretty addicting, but it’s literally all the same shit as SKULL & BONES. The difference is you can go to the islands and fight monsters or BUILD, but the ship combat is all worse than Skull & Bones, plus it’s mainly single player, but you can play coop. It’s not an open world like that or Sea of Thieves.

I’m realizing everything I’m doing I did exactly already in Skull & Bones, only people didn’t play that game so they don’t realize it’s also already in that game.

After 2 days of play, I’m realizing you’d be better off just replaying Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag

The combat is like WoW/EverQuest 1999 where you pull too many monsters, and there’s no way to pull a single monster, and you’re 1-shotted and can’t fight more than 1 monster at once. That hasn’t improved and is way back 25 years in the past. haha. I played for about 5 hours before going to level 2. And you die to level 1 monsters all day. The combat is this bullshit parry/dodge shit that isn’t fun at all.

It’s the most corpses and deaths I’ve seen in my life. But I didn’t know how to use a tent to set up your respawn. haha.

ship combat is no better than Sea of Thieves, Black Flag (worse), or Skull & Bones. You can board vs Skull & Bones (can’t) but the boarding is terrible.

IF YOU DIE, YOU RESPAWN BACK ELSWHERE IN THE WORLD! You don’t even go back to your ship. So you die boarding, then you have to summon your ship back to your corpse. Repair things. Then travel BACK TO THE FUCKING BATTLE. That’s terrible. You should respawn on your ship or something.

But it’s pretty fun having things to do and playing the game. It’s addictive.

It’s really well done for EARLY ACCESS and it’s cheap at $27.

STARTING TIPS

• You can fast travel by getting into your boat, THEN fast traveling. WTF. Didn’t know that.
• Built tents to make your respawn spot closer
• Do all this “comfort” decoration building in town to make your stamina last longer
• Drag a bell and wood around when you go to a new island to lay down a spawn point
• Suggestions
  • Combat needs to be better and more fun. I spend all my time swearing about dying.
  • need to be able to separate out monsters from packs if they are so hard to kill in a group
  • Needs to dump all items in the chest key/button
  • Needs make the max crafting items key/button
  • NPC dialog UI is terrible
